What is Re?
Re is an onchain reinsurer. It takes capital from crypto markets and uses it to back real-world insurance companies, earning premiums by absorbing a defined share of their risk.
How does it work?
Re deploys capital into regulated insurance and reinsurance structures through long-term treaties. That capital is locked for the duration of each contract and is used to pay claims if losses occur, in exchange for premium income paid to Re.
How is revenue generated?
Re earns revenue from insurance premiums paid by insurers for transferring risk. Those premiums are paid regardless of market conditions, creating cash flow that is largely uncorrelated from crypto prices.
